across municipalities

New working groups strengthen the green transition

The Triangle Region has in spring 2026 initiated two new cross-municipal working groups to strengthen the green transition and ensure coherent solutions across the municipalities.

Green mobility
The new mobility group started in May and consists of mobility and traffic managers from all seven municipalities. In addition, director Marianne Wolff Lundholt from the Triangle Region Denmark and technical director Martin Sejersgaard-Jacobsen from Billund Municipality participate.

The group works with the Triangle Region's common position on coherent green mobility with a particular focus on strengthening the coherence in public transport across municipal borders. At the same time, the group engages in dialogue with state agencies and transport companies to support the development of future green transport solutions.

Robust electricity grid
The working group for a robust electricity grid consists of professional staff from the municipalities as well as director Søren Thomsen from Triangle Energy Alliance.

The group's task is to ensure sufficient capacity in the electricity grid, which is a prerequisite for both business development, electrification, and the green transition. The work includes, among other things, dialogue with Energinet and the local grid companies as well as building a common basis for the Triangle Region's advocacy in the area.

Expansion of the group around technical water

The technical water working group is being further developed. Going forward, the group will have a broader focus on the entire water area – including also the groundwater resource. This is to ensure a more coherent management of water as a strategic resource in the green transition.

Other central working groups in the Triangle Region

The Climate Managers Group
The Climate Managers Group consists of climate managers from all seven municipalities and plays a central role in coordinating the cross-municipal work on climate, energy, and resource planning. The group works to develop common professional foundations and initiatives that strengthen supply security and support the green transition across municipal borders.

The Planning Managers Group
The Planning Managers Group gathers the planning managers from the municipalities and focuses on strategic physical planning in the Triangle Region. The group ensures a common direction in planning strategy and municipal plans as well as coordination of planning tasks where coherence across municipalities is crucial.

The Municipal Planning Group
The Municipal Planning Group consists of professional staff and works on implementing the common planning decisions. The group supports the development of the common planning strategy and municipal plan and ensures a common professional foundation and exchange of experiences across municipalities.

The Technical Directors Forum
The Technical Directors Forum gathers the technical directors from the municipalities and sets the overall direction for the cross-municipal cooperation within climate, energy, planning, and infrastructure. The forum acts as a link between the professional groups and the political level and prioritizes the common initiatives and agendas.
