80,000 vehicles crossing daily

The New Little Belt Bridge is one of the most important bridges in Denmark, with nearly 80,000 vehicles crossing the bridge every day. That is more than twice as many as the Great Belt Bridge and four times as many as the Øresund Bridge, according to the figure below.

The Little Belt Bridge contributes to productivity

The Little Belt Bridge connects the Triangle Region and thus contributes to the Triangle Region having the country's second highest productivity. Our companies create jobs corresponding to about 180,000 full-time positions, many of which are jobs for citizens outside the Triangle Region – a full 22% of the workforce in the Triangle Region lives outside the Triangle Region.

The Little Belt connection is of great importance for mobility and cohesion between East and West Denmark. About 81,000 people lived on one side of the Little Belt and worked on the opposite side in 2023 – many of these commute across the New Little Belt Bridge. In addition, 17% of Danish freight transport by truck included a trip across the Little Belt in 2023.

The New Little Belt Bridge has also experienced strong traffic growth over the past 10 years, according to the figure below. Especially towards 2019, traffic increased sharply, while in the years after Covid-19, it has increased a little more slowly.
