A lot of skilled labor in the Triangle Region

In 2023, there were approximately 1.00 million people in the workforce in the Triangle Region and its catchment area, who can commute to the Triangle Region within a reasonable time (see note to the figure for the definition of catchment area). For comparison, the figure was 1.18 million people in the Capital Region.

Specifically for skilled labor, however, the workforce is larger in the Triangle Region including the catchment area than in the Capital Region.

Workforce 2023, number of persons

Unskilled workforce refers to persons whose highest completed education is high school or primary school. The catchment area for the Triangle Region is here defined as municipalities where it is possible to reach all municipalities in the Triangle Region within 90 minutes and where it is possible within 60 minutes to reach at least one of the municipalities in the Triangle Region, cf. Kontur 2022. The Capital Region is defined as the metropolitan region from the National Planning Report 2013.

The skilled workforce in Denmark has decreased over the past 10 years (-3%), but in the Triangle Region there are slightly more skilled workers today than 10 years ago (+1%)

The workforce with higher education in the Triangle Region is 38% larger today than 10 years ago, which roughly corresponds to the development in the rest of the country (not shown in figure).
